What is Reading Homework?
Each Monday students will receive a short piece of literature to read at home. A paper copy has been given to students in the Blue Book (given in class). Digital copies are also posted in StudentVue and Google Classroom. A copy of the story will also be posted on this site for easy parent access. It is expected that students will read (and annotate) the piece at least 2 times (or more as needed) throughout the week as homework. Please feel free to read along with your child and discuss the piece as you go.
Each Friday students will have a 5 question multiple choice "quiz" over the story. Questions revolve around characters, setting, conflict, theme, basic plot, etc. All of these literary terms will be covered in class. Grades from these "quizzes" will appear as part of the Homework grade. There are no retakes!
